A typical (flexible) day in the Blue Mountains...

At Boutique Mountain Tours, there is no typical day!

We pride ourselves on staying flexible, customising each day to suit the needs and wants of our small group of travellers, and enjoying the best the day has to offer. Below however is a guide to how your Blue Mountains tour will generally unfold...

Pick-up from your hotel

Begin your Blue Mountains tour between 7 - 7:45am with a complimentary pick-up from many city hotels or a convenient Sydney city location.

Travel to the Blue Mountains

Relax in our comfortable vehicle for the 90 minute drive west to the Blue Mountains. Along the way your guide will explain your day, and tell you about the history and uniqueness of Australia, its wildlife and culture.

Three Sisters at Echo Point

Be amazed by the famous Three Sisters rock formation at Echo Point. It can be a bit busy, but this is a must on any visit to the Blue Mountains.

Staying away from the crowds

As we're not tied to a set itinerary, we can design our day based on the opportunities that will present the best the Mountains have to offer on the day. We prefer to visit the smaller (but equally spectacular) lookouts, bushwalks and reserves that will give us a real experience of this beautiful part of Australia.

Gourmet Lunch

At lunchtime our gourmet tours enjoy a two course lunch with starters.

Get hands on with some native animals

In the afternoon we head down from the mountains for a hands on Australian native wildlife encounter and the chance to feed Kangaroos and have a photo taken with a Koala at Featherdale Wildlife Park! This is on the bucket list for most visitors to Australia, and we visit in the afternoon after leaving the Blue Mountains when the park is much quieter, in keeping with our tour philosophy of trying to avoid the crowds.

Stretching your legs

Throughout the day there'll be the opportunity to get out and enjoy a few short walks. Our flexible itinerary allows you to take in the variety of views and walks at the spectacular Wentworth Falls and other amazing locations, tailored to the time, the day and the group.

Returning to Sydney

We head down from the Mountains to the river wharf, near the site of the 2000 Sydney Olympics. You'll return to Sydney in style, aboard a Harbour Cruise that takes in one of the world's most beautiful waterways. You reach the city, at Darling Harbour or Circular Quay where the tour ends, approximately 6.30 - 6.45pm.

Overall, a Boutique Mountain Tours day means a great day out of Sydney, learn about some aboriginal culture, views and countryside of the beautiful Blue Mountains. Our small group size means you can be sure of personal attention from dedicated and enthusiastic guides, in comfortable and spacious vehicles. There's also the chance to mingle with other travellers along the way.
